0304: Music from the short film.
Elegy: This is a cover of the Howard Jones song Elegy from the album Dream Into Action from 1985. Not one of the hits, but is one of my faves. The original is simple keyboards and vocal. This one jazzes it up with 12-string guitar, sax taking the vocal line, drums and more.
Constellations (Theme): This was a theme composed for a sci-fi TV series that never existed excet as a shared story game (a kind of writing/acting exercise), in order to give it some reality. It has a few influences mixed together: old sci-fi themes (Dr. Who, Space 1999), some Genesis (Mike Rutherford style guitars, a dash of Phil Collins in the drums), and a touch of Vangelis-ness.
Doctor Who Signature Tune: Composed by Ron Grainer. Arranged by N. Eric Phillips. Nicknamed “Dr. Floyd” because it was influence by my love of Pink Floyd, this is a new cover of the 49-year old show’s theme. Uploaded to Who Mix, a site dedicated to fan versions of Doctor Who themes. I am proud to have one of the top downloaded there, at over 7700 downloads to date.
